FAQ - Brandon Boger Photography


I've compiled a list of questions that I have been asked by Clients in the past. I have created a list for general questions (applies to all sessions) as well as a list specific to weddings. Q: What type of sessions do you offer?

A: I specialize in families, children & weddings. However, I do offer other sessions such as maternity, senior & glamour! I love photographing just about anything so if you're looking for something different, just send me a message!

Q: When can I expect to see our photos?

A: For portrait sessions, your gallery will be completed within 2 weeks of your session. For weddings, your gallery will be completed within 4-6 weeks from your wedding date. I understand that you are excited to see your photos as much as I am excited to show them to you, but please allow me the time I need to complete your photographs.

Q: Do you deliver every image you take?

A: No I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. It is at the discretion of  Brandon Boger Photography to cull through the images & select and retouch the best images to provide to the client.

Q: Can I have all of the RAW (unedited) images?

A: No. As a photographer, I do not give out RAW (unedited) files as these are not a representation of my work.

Q: Do you touch up all the images on our CD or USB?

A: Yes, I do. Post production of your images includes touch ups such as removal of blemishes, removal of bags under eyes, removal of fly-away hairs, etc. Custom post production is anything that requires extensive, custom work in Photoshop such as removing entire objects from the scene, changing the size and shape of body parts or other objects in the scene, adding objects to a scene, and other custom work. I charge hourly for the custom post production, as the time required ranges depending on the complexity of the project. Please contact me for more details.

Q: Can I print digital files off at say "Walmart" or "CVS"?

A: All sessions receive a CD or USB of all edited images with print release. With the print release, you are given permission by Brandon Boger Photography to print your photographs at any lab which you desire. However, these are not professional labs and therefore, Brandon Boger Photography is not responsible for the quality. I recommend ordering from mpix.com or ordering off my website in your client gallery.

Q: Do you backup our images? How can we ensure that our images won’t be lost?

A: Yes. All sessions are backed up to an external hard drive, as well as your client gallery on my website. If you loose, your images, please contact me to discuss how to obtain another CD or USB.

Q: How can I book a session with you?

A: You can contact me via e-mail at info@brandonbogerphotography.com, phone 301-302-6902 or via my contact form to discuss the type of session your are interested in. I will then answer any questions as well as provide you with pricing/package information. We will then move forward with scheduling.

Q: Do you travel outside of Martinsburg, WV?

A: Yes. Anywhere outside of 60 miles (90 miles for weddings) of Martinsburg, WV will be assessed a travel fee. If this applies to you, please contact me to discuss travel details.


Q: We’re really busy and won’t be able to meet. Are there any other options?

A: I would love to meet with you prior to your wedding; however if you’re somehow too busy or too far away, we can handle everything remotely. Phone calls or Skype are great ways to get to know one another and make sure we are the "right fit" if you are unable to have a face-to-face consultation.

Q: How do I reserve you for my date?

A: Your date is reserved once I receive your signed contract & deposit

Q: Can I see a full event from start to finish?

A: Of course you may! We pride ourselves on the consistency of our work. We understand all photographers put up their best shots from each wedding on their websites so it’s hard to determine how well he or she will perform on the wedding day. That is why we encourage all of our potential clients to view full events from all photographers they meet with to see how well the photographer performs throughout the day

Q: My venue is really dark. How does your studio handle these situations and can I see samples?

A: I have shot in the darkest of dark chapels and reception halls so no need to worry! Some chapels do not allow for flash photography; and for that reason, I shoot on camera’s with superb low-light performance and lenses with low apertures.

Q: How many hours do you suggest we set aside for wedding "formals"?

A: I would suggest setting aside at least 1 - 1.5 hours for bride & groom formals. Some couples choose to have formals taken prior to the ceremony, while other choose to have them taken after the ceremony. Every wedding is different. Either way, it is important to allot this time in  your wedding day schedule to ensure we capture all those beautiful shots like the ones you've viewed in my portfolio.

Q: How many photos will I receive on my USB?

A: The number of retouched photos you will receive depends on how many hours and package you choose. This is all outlined in my wedding pricing/packages tab. This information will also be listed on your contract. 

Q: What happens if your camera decides not to work or breaks during my wedding?

A: Well I have good news! I always have two cameras with me at every wedding. I always have a backup for this reason. That's one worry you can take off of your wedding planning list!

Q: What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?

A: I understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding. I will ask you at the end of your contracted time if their are any last minute shots you'd like me to get before I leave. At this time, you may decide you'd like me to stay later than originally planned. If you would like me to stay, you will be billed the rates specified in your original contract.

Q: How long does it take to get my album?

A: It all depends on the client. Once photos are completed, I will create a customized "album proof" of all of the pages of your album. I will then send the proof to the client for approval. At this time, the client will either approve or request changes. Once the album has been approved, the album will be ordered for printing at my professional lab. It takes approximately 6 - 8 weeks from your wedding date for your album to be completed and in the mail (or ready for pick up). This allows time for production & printing.

Q: If we cancel the wedding, will we receive our deposit back?

A: Unfortunately, no. Deposits are used to reserve your date. Once I've receive your deposit, I do not accept other clients for your date.

Q: If we change our wedding to a different date, will we be able to use our deposit towards a future date?

A: Yes. However, if rates change from your original date to your new date, the new rates will apply. This also depends if I am not already booked for your new date.
